Over 80 million albums sold worldwide. 12 Top 10 smash hit singles. Thousands of concerts performed. The time has come for the ultimate convergence of rock's finest from the Midwest. REO SPEEDWAGON, STYX and TED NUGENT will join forces for "The Midwest Rock 'N' Roll Express" 30-date U.S. tour. Rolling out May 1 in Hidalgo, Texas, tickets for various cities will go on sale starting February 22.

"Forget all those TV shows with glee clubs singing Rock songs," exclaims STYX guitarist/singer James "JY" Young. "It's time for mega-platinum Illinois bands STYX and REO SPEEDWAGON in a battle to the end of the Mayan Calendar with the Motor City Madman!"

"I am a Midwest boy, born and raised with Midwest values," continues REO SPEEDWAGON singer/guitarist Kevin Cronin. "In the Midwest we work hard, play hard, and rock hard. I am proud to join my brothers in STYX and TED NUGENT to celebrate Midwest rock 'n' roll and represent the greatest rock fans in the world. I am ready to climb aboard the 'Midwest Rock 'N 'Roll Express'! Rock on, baby!"

As STYX singer/guitarist Tommy Shaw proclaims, "It's gonna be a Twang Fest of screaming guitars and big, sing-along choruses that continue to be the soundtrack for the misbehavior of our collective fan base. In other words, a real good time."

Ted Nugent couldn't agree more. "The heart and soul of American R&B&R&R has always gushed forth from the heartland of America. REO, STYX and The Nuge have always celebrated the power of our special music and on the mighty 'Midwest Rock 'N' Roll Express', the energy, attitude and spirit is more intense than ever. This is the soundtrack for the hardcore."

Ted Nugent lost his temper during an interview with a CBS reporter, offering to perform oral sex on the interviewer and copulate with the journalist's female producer following a heated discussion about the legendary rocker's conservative political views.

Nugent and Jeff Glor were discussing politics when the reporter suggested the rocker wasn't the political moderate he claimed to be — especially considering his recent controversial comments, including that he'd rather be "dead or in jail" if President Obama wins re-election. This prompted Nugent to begin yelling at the reporter, insisting he's a "damned nice guy" who does plenty for charity.

He raged, "If you examine how I conduct myself, I don't think a day goes by in my life for many, many years now, that we don't do charity work for children.

"I offer you this: call me when you sit down across from someone who has more families with dying little boys and girls who get a call to take them on their last fishing trip in life. Call me when you meet someone who does that more than I do! Because that's really moderate. You know what that is? That's extreme! I'm an extremely loving, passionate man and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, ascertain the conclusion that I'm a damned nice guy... and if you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I'll suck your dick."

He then turned to a female producer off camera and added, "Or I'll fuck you. How's that sound?"

According to Glor, Nugent's wife told the rocker after the interview to apologize to the female producer, which Ted did. Later Nugent called Glor to say he was rushed to the emergency room after their interview to have a kidney stone removed, which, Glor says, may have contributed to Ted's anxiety.
